Loch Lloyd Country Club, is a Private, 27 hole golf course located in The Village of Loch Lloyd - Belton, Missouri. The Village of Loch Lloyd is a private gated resort-like community on the south side of Kansas City, Missouri adjacent the Kansas border. The village is built around a 110 acre lake on Mill Creek and the original golf course designed by Donald Sechrest and the newly designed Tom Watson Signature Design golf course which opened in 2012. Loch Lloyd derives its name from the original real estate developer Harry J. Lloyd.
Loch Lloyd Country Club opened as a par-70, 6,664 yard course in 1990. The course was designed by Donald Sechrest. The course was redesigned and expanded to 27 holes in 2012 by Tom Watson. Loch Lloyd is a Signature Watson course.
In 2002, the development at Loch Lloyd and The Country Club at Loch Lloyd, were acquired by FiveStar Lifestyles. FiveStar is led by Kansas City business man Neal Patterson - the Co-Founder and Chairman of the Cerner Corporation. Since FiveStar's acquisition in 2002, Loch Lloyd has prospered including the development of four new housing phases, building over 200 homes at an average price of $850,000; the building of the new state-of-the-art Health Club; a total renovation of the award winning Clubhouse; and the new Tom Watson Signature Design golf course.
As a side note, in July 2007 evangelist Tammy Faye died at her home on the lake in The Village of Loch Lloyd.
